On Sunday the 5th May we drove up to Manchester to the UK's oldest deep space radio telescope, Jodrell Bank. The big dish on the right of the picture is called the Lovell Telescope, which is one of third largest steerable telescopes and plays an important role in the research of meteors, quarsars and pulsars. Nearby are the offices which receives the magnificant images this telescope picks up.
So what does this have to do with Kaleidoscope Man? Well, we have a scene in the movie where British Astronomers pick up the huge alien object which ominously approaches Earth. Later on in the film alien ships swoop by these iconic dishes as they begin their deadly attack.
