Video Diary - Episode 14: Meeting the Money Men

Yesterday, Kaleidoscope Man director Simon Cox, had a meeting with someone who could help to introduce him with some potential investors to help to raise the £150K we need to shoot the rest of the movie.

Simon recorded a video diary before and after the meeting, which gives an interesting account and shows the frustrations of raising money to make films using the traditional routes.

This video does raise a lot of questions and we would love to know your thoughts and invite any ideas on how we could potentially raise the money we need to get the film shot.

Hi Simon, a very honest video. I wish you all the best with this venture as you've put so much hard work into it and deserve all the support you can get. I think doing more crowdfunding is definitely worth it as it's worked the other times. Brainstorming ideas - Could you look into getting sponsorship from a local big company - I know that they have a 'Community fund' and maybe they would support this venture even if it's in a small way. Could you apply for a small business grant? or set up as a social enterprise and get some funding or.......approach the Dragons....?

    Hi Simon

I really enjoyed your blog and positive comments following the meeting. I do feel you will raise the money and crowd funding may be the way but that will take time and I'm concerned about continuity of actors.

Maybe try "Business Angels" they often understand creative people and if you can lock onto the right ones your project could go faster than you ever imagined.
