Video Diary 19 - Castles & Cowpats

This was the final shoot for the opening scene of the movie and although we were organised, I’d made an assumption about where we could shoot without permission, and got it very wrong!  Luckily, thanks to the great team around me, we managed to pull it out of the bag and get the appropriate permission in time.

As you will see from the video, the enthusiasm from our two main children was infectious and both were over the moon about being in the movie. This helped to create a great atmosphere on the day and even though we had quite a few technical problems to deal with it helped us to ride through them.

The crane took a lot of setting up mainly due to the problems we had getting it into position. The resulting shots however, were certainly worth it and give the scene a very high production value.

Thanks to the wonderful Ian Dangerfield and his daughter Laura for filming the behind the scenes video.

Man, that was a pretty serious looking jib!! Looks like the shoot was a blast, and the kids had a swell time, so that's always a plus. Looking forward to the next update.

My family always say that I am wasting my time here at net, however I know I am getting familiarity everyday by reading such fastidious content.
