Phase 6  - Our Biggest Shoot Yet!

What a few months we’ve had! June began with an investment from two investors with an amount that would enable us to get a good two weeks’ worth of shooting in the can. So in mid-June, we assembled our cast and crew and got to work...

Firstly, we filmed in an old medieval priory called The CharterHouse in Coventry. This doubled up as a care centre in which our hero Tom works. It is here that we meet Floyd, Harriet and Samantha, some of the characters Tom take with him during the alien invasion and who will eventually help in saving the Earth. These were played by Simon Haycock (Tom), Danny Steele (Floyd), Julie Hoult (Harriet) and Sophie Anderson (Samantha). We also had the wonderful Toyah Willcox with us who plays the Senior Nurse, Claire Dove.

The CharterHouse also doubled up as a mansion house and a few other secret locations for the film.

As soon as we finished shooting in the house, we moved the cast and crew into central Birmingham to the Birmingham Film Studios where we shot another large bulk of the movie; the spaceship scenes...

The team at the studios built us 4 different sets which we filmed with on their green screen stage. These included part of one of the Harvester ships, a bridge inside a giant spaceship cavern, an intergalactic chamber and an alien passageway!

With this shoot now in the can, we have around 85% of the movie shot. We have a few more days to do over the next few months, including 4 days filming in Lanzarote where we will shoot our alien planet scenes and a night scene in Central Birmingham where we will finally shoot the epic tank battle elements for our alien invasions sequences.

Then it will be the massive post production push, where the bulk of the CGI work will start and hopefully finish towards the end of spring 2016.

This has been a long time coming, but I promise the wait will have been worth it.

Looking great Simon and so pleased your hard work and determination is coming to fruition as they say. It is certainly an 'out of space' production in more ways than one! Wishing you brilliant success and well deserved!
