The Mammoth Edit Begins...

Since returning from shooting our alien planet scenes in Lanzarote back in January, we have had our heads down furiously editing. With nearly 30 hours of footage in the can this is proving to be a mammoth task. However, I am pleased to report that after 3 years of shooting we finally have a very rough cut – which is currently running at just over 2 hours in length. The story seems to be working well and it’s certainly exciting.

Our plan is to get the film down to approximately 95 minutes and this will be achieved by constantly working through it and gently chipping away with the scissors. We're very keen for the film to be dynamic and full of pace and energy, but also ensuring that the story and characters are clear. The film is certainly full of emotion, so it’s ensuring we find the right balance between the action scenes and the character stuff.

We have also been blocking out the special effects and working out exactly what we need to get done. This is a particularly hard process, mainly because it takes time and needs to be as accurate as humanly possible before it goes on to be animated.

At the moment we have three animator friends working on the CGI but due to the rather large amount of work to be done, it’s now obvious that we will need a small army of talented FXs guys to help.

Therefore, we will be running another crowdfunding campaign to help fund some of this animation so I’ll let you know as soon as we are ready to go.

We still have a little more shooting to do and will be filming again on the 18th March in Coventry. Just some small scenes, but as ever, very important scenes.

Thank you again for your ongoing support and encouragement. Everything is going in the right direction...

Really proud of you Simon - to quote you 'You've worked your balls off to get this made' and never wavered. Glad to have been a small part of it.
